There was a time, many centuries ago, where on Equestria reigned the silence and stillness. A long time ago, almost ancient: more than a thousand years ago, before the feud of the sisters, even before the defeat of chaos and his unopposed reign.
Maybe it was a time beyond time itself and everywhere reigned light and quiet.
A simple and pure existence, without anything. Only bright light and void anywhere.
No thought, sound or color existed then, all was still and quiet.
Then came her: The Bright One.
It is not known where she came from or how she arrived, but after she appeared and from that moment things changed.
At first she wandered about aimlessly, in the absolute quiet. Direction and time were abstract concepts that do not existed yet, but she had way to think long. (Direction and time were abstract concepts not even existing)
She was conscious of herself, and was also aware that she possessed an innate magical power. So she decided to try to create something.
Initially simple figures but then she began to create more complex things. She noted, however, that her creations after little disappeared, dissolving into the white void around her. She realized that they needed something that could last over time and thus considered this.
First of all, she defined herself. Her shape had four legs, a slim body and a head with a thick mane, red as flames, two white and strong wings and a horn on its forehead, which allowed her to use magic. However, what stood out most was her clear eyes, always attentive, and the sweet smile that she had observing her surroundings, the one of a loving mother to her children.
That sinuous shape she liked and then she decided to try to create more. She took the best of the white feathers of her wings as a means of creation, and shed a tear, from which to draw her essence.
It was enough to draw with the pen tip into the tear so to make her own creations concrete, creating and giving them a physical form over.
With this combination, she began to create other beings like her, but still those did not resist enough.
She decided to devote at first to create a surface on which to dwell, a lasting place in all that nothingness. And so she did.
She created the earth, the sea and the sky. The thing she liked a lot, so she decided to expand her creations and give them a variety of shades with trees and forests, rocks and mountains, deserts, swamps, and so on.
She placed all the light emitted in the sun, but it was so powerful that she had to separate a part of it, thus creating the moon, but even so there was too much light. She decided then that the two celestial bodies would alternate cyclically, giving way to what she had created to rest. Thus were born the day and night.
She realized then that some of her creations however, remained. Young beings, with her own appearance, though not with her own ability, but still they had a considerable magic.
She watched them interact with what had been done before, but perhaps she sensed that if she had gave variety to the environment, could perhaps create variety of creatures, and did so.
She devoted herself to the creation of other creatures of every shape and color, from largest to smallest. She also created a most basic version of the First Ones, separating the three characteristics.
Born this way were the Earth Pony: creatures laborious and very durable.
Then came the Pegasi: able to fly high in the sky and interact with the climate.
And last the Unicorns: Those who possessed the Horn, able to easily manipulate the magic in various forms. The latter, after the First, had the longest longevity, followed by Pegasi and Earth Ponies, which, however, were more prolific unlike their winged or magic brothers.
All over, the Bright One said that she had done for some years, admiring the countless interactions between the existing creatures and their expand and develop. The First afterwards were called Alicorns in order to differentiate themselves.
After all this, the Bright One decided to leave Equestria. By now it was all started when she felt the need to turn her attention elsewhere.
It is said that she still travels among the constellations of the sky, helping or creating many things of which he is very proud of, even if, in her heart, there will always be the memory of these lands.
